The core objectives of factory mass production are stable product quality, high output efficiency, and controllable costs. For industries that involve color formulation — coatings, inks, functional pastes, and similar materials — the suitability of the tinting stage directly determines production efficiency. With its digital and standardized technical characteristics, the automatic color dispenser has become the core choice for the tinting process in mass-production settings, and its suitability can be analyzed systematically from several dimensions.

In terms of quality consistency, the core requirement of mass production is to keep the color deviation of every batch strictly within the range permitted by the industry or the customer, usually measured by the color difference ΔE value (mass production requires ΔE ≤ 1, while most manual tinting reaches 2–3). By using preset digital formulas, the automatic color dispenser precisely controls the weighing accuracy of pigments, base materials, and additives (down to the milligram level), and a computer program manages parameters such as mixing speed, time, and temperature throughout the process, eliminating the color unevenness caused by differences in skill and fluctuations in operator condition during manual tinting. However, for mass-production scenarios with a monthly capacity of several thousand tons and a same-color-series compounding rate above 60%, the overall economic benefits of the automatic color dispenser are significant. Industry research data shows that after introducing an automatic color dispenser into mass production, labor costs in the tinting stage can drop by 40%–60%, raw material losses fall by 15%–25%, and overall production efficiency rises by more than 25%.
