Calibrating a pigment colorist is a crucial process that ensures color consistency and accuracy. The following are the details that need to be noted during the calibration process to ensure that the color mixer is always in good working condition:
1、 Preparation before calibration
Environmental conditions: Calibration should be carried out under stable environmental conditions, avoiding drastic changes in temperature and humidity. The temperature should be controlled at 20-25 ℃, and the humidity should be maintained at 40% -60%. Because these factors can affect the viscosity and color performance of pigments.
Cleaning equipment: Before starting calibration, thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the color mixing machine. Remove residual pigments and impurities to prevent them from interfering with the calibration process. Especially the nozzle, pipeline, and mixing chamber need to be carefully cleaned.
Check equipment status: Ensure that all components of the color mixing machine are functioning properly. Check if the sensor is sensitive, if the pump is working properly, and if there are any blockages or leaks in the pipeline. If there are any abnormalities, repair or replace the components first.

2、 Details during the calibration process
Use standard color cards: Choose standard color cards certified by authorized maintenance agencies, such as Pantone color cards. Before calibration, measure the color data of the color chart with a spectrophotometer to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
Multiple measurements and taking the average: When measuring colors, each color point should be measured at least 3 times, and the average value should be taken as the final data. Reduce accidental errors and improve calibration accuracy.
Gradually adjust parameters: Adjust the parameters of the color mixing machine based on the measurement results, such as pigment ratio, mixing time, etc. After each adjustment, re measure the color until the expected effect is achieved.
Record calibration data: Detailed record of parameter settings, measurement results, and adjustment process for each calibration. These data help analyze changes in equipment performance and provide reference for subsequent calibration.
3、 Verification after calibration
Verify color consistency: after calibration, mix several common colors, compare with the standard color card, and check the color consistency. Make minor adjustments if necessary.
Long term stability test: Monitor the performance of the color mixer for several consecutive days to observe whether the color is stable. If there is a color deviation, it needs to be recalibrated.

4、 Other precautions
Regular calibration: Develop a reasonable calibration plan based on usage frequency and environmental conditions. Frequent use of color mixing machines should be calibrated once a week or month, while long-term use should be calibrated once every quarter or six months.
Use high-quality consumables: Choose high-quality pigments and solvents to ensure color stability and accuracy. Poor quality consumables may lead to color deviation and equipment malfunction.
Personnel training: Operators should receive training, be familiar with the calibration process and precautions, strictly follow the standard operation, and avoid human errors.
By following the above steps and precautions, the calibration process of the pigment color mixing machine can be ensured to be accurate and effective, thereby improving the quality of color mixing and production efficiency.
